Companion Therapy Announces the Companion Therapy Zoological
Medicine Specialty Internship at the University of Georgia
NEWARK, DE – August 19, 2014 – Companion® Therapy is proud to sponsor the new Companion Therapy Zoological Medicine Specialty Internship at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.
This year-long veterinary internship will be supervised by two board-certified veterinarians and will be primarily involved in all aspects of wildlife medicine, including physical exams, diagnostic sample collection, radiography, anesthesia, surgery, medical treatment, necropsy, husbandry, record maintenance, telephone consultations and presentations at rounds. Companion would like to congratulate Dr. Isabelle Desprez on being awarded the internship.
Dr. Desprez will utilize the Companion Therapy Laser, along with other techniques she learns at the University of Georgia, to rehabilitate wildlife. “We are very excited to offer this advanced technology at the University of Georgia,” said Dr. Jörg Mayer, an associate professor of zoological medicine. “We thank Companion for helping to make therapy laser technology available to our patients, as well as to our students, interns and residents. We look forward to a long-term collaboration!”
