Companion University is designed specifically for Companion Therapy Laser owners to advance their knowledge of laser therapy and to maximize their results both clinically and financially.

Additionally, laser as a part of a multi-modal approach to managing osteoarthritis, treatment techniques, and complementary tools will be presented in breakout sessions.

Tuition: $95 if paid prior to September 12th, $115 thereafter. Tuition includes Continental Breakfast, Course Materials, Clinical Atlas on CD ROM, Diplomas and CE Certificates, and Lunch. Tuition for each additional practice member is $45 prior to September 12th, and a limited number of non-customers may attend for an additional $50 for each attendee. Companion University 101: Science for Clients
What you need to know about Class IV laser therapy to communicate well with clients. A review of the science, results of recent studies, the spectrum of use in human and veterinary fields, safety, and contraindications – all with a focus on how to effectively communicate to clients about the technology.

Companion University 201: Maximize Treatment Results
Learn the latest Class IV laser therapy treatment concepts and treatment techniques. Discussion will focus on appropriate target doses, the latest equipment and software developments, appropriate selection of handpieces, and correct treatment techniques.

Companion University 301: Move Beyond Just Treating Common Conditions
You’re good at treating common conditions, now it’s time to start treating uncommon conditions! After a brief visual review of common conditions, learn how to correctly manage procedure, acute, and chronic conditions. Full case studies of uncommon conditions will give you more information to correctly manage less-common conditions and to encourage you to broaden the range of patients who could benefit from laser therapy.

Companion University 501: Putting it All Together
Learn how to successfully integrate laser therapy into your companion animal practice. Material covered includes how to train staff to discuss laser therapy with clients, business and marketing strategies for making laser therapy a successful service, and step-by-step recommendations on incorporating laser therapy.

Complementary Practicum
In a hands-on session and open discussion session, review treatment techniques and methods used by your colleagues to improve effectiveness and consistent results.

Companion University 401: Laser Therapy and Osteoarthritis
This presentation is a comprehensive look at incorporating laser therapy into the multimodal management of the osteoarthritis pet. Discussion includes goals in treating OA patients, a review of the process of osteoarthritis, maladaptive pain and its  relationship to the arthritic pet, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical OA interventions, physical interventions for OA, and photobiomodulation and pain management for OA via laser therapy.

A Companion Conversation: a moderated discussion among colleagues, and Q & A
This final session is a great opportunity to share your successes with colleagues, get second opinions, present difficult cases, and to ask the experts.
