Companion Animal Health Launches First Ever Laser Therapy Technician of the Year Contest

NEWARK, DE, August 31, 2016 — Companion Animal Health is pleased to announce the first ever Companion Laser Therapy Technician of the Year Contest.

Veterinary technicians are the backbone of laser therapy programs around the country and Companion looks forward to rewarding one of these in-the-trenches heroes with an amazing grand prize.  The winner of the Companion Laser Therapy Technician of the Year Contest will earn a fully paid passage for themselves and a guest on the 7-night American Institute of Medical Laser Applications (AIMLA) Caribbean CE at Sea Cruise where they can earn 15 CE hours.  Read more about the cruise and curriculum at http://aimla.org/ce-at-sea-2017-raising-the-standard-of-veterinary-care-an-advanced-technology-triathlon.

Veterinary technicians with experience using Companion Therapy Lasers to improve their patients’ lives are invited to enter the contest by sharing a photo and a brief success story.  All submitted stories will remain online and open for votes until October 5th.  The winner of the grand prize will be determined by popular vote, therefore participants are encouraged to share a link to vote for their story on Facebook, Twitter, with friends, family, co-workers and clients.

Early submissions have highlighted the life-changing impact laser therapy has made on patients, stories about how laser therapy skeptics were converted to believers, and the rewarding-nature of providing veterinary patients relief with laser therapy.  One submission states “…But the best thing I have done is changed lives. Spirit the German Shepherd now likes affection, because it doesn’t hurt. Molly the Dachshund can run again. Valentine, the stallion previously headed to a slaughterhouse, played for the first time in months. Raven, plagued by ringbone, cantered for the first time in two years. A mare named Love had a paralyzed lip and is now using it almost normally. Kotah the 10-year-old lab “acts like he’s four again,” and Rocket Man the APHA yearling will escape a nasty incident with barbed wire without a scar…”

Voting will close on October 5, 2016, therefore participants are encouraged to enter early to leave time for their story to generate votes.  The winner will be announced during National Veterinary Technician Week.
