Join The American Institute of Medical Laser Applications (AIMLA) for a day of CE, best practices sharing, and interactive hands-on instruction. Hear from two experienced clinicians who use laser therapy everyday in practice. Learn practical laser therapy treatment applications and techniques that you can take home and immediately put into practice.
This CE event is designed for the beginner, intermediate and advanced laser therapy user. There will be ample time for discussion of best practices, treatment techniques and real-world applications. The objective of this course is to provide tips that can easily and immediately make an impact on your treatments. Those new to laser therapy are also welcome to participate in this opportunity to learn about the foundational principles of laser therapy and learn hands-on techniques.

Clinical Applications of Laser Therapy in the Physical Therapy Practice: Pearls and Perils

Presented by Karen Davis Warren, PT, MPT, OCS, ATC, CSCS
Dr. Warren will illustrate her uses for therapeutic laser in a clinical environment across various patient types and populations. Case studies will be presented and discussion will be led regarding the most effective use of therapeutic laser in the clinic. This evidence-based presentation will provide references to scientific literature to support the results being achieved in the clinic. The lecture will include interactive hands-on instruction.
Laser Therapy in the Trenches of Daily Practice: Designing Treatment Plans to Niche Strategies
4 CE Hours, Lecture & Hands-On, CE credit applied for by Logan University
Presented by Perry Nickelston, DC, NKT, FMS, SFMA
Dr. Perry will discuss clinical applications of laser therapy in the trenches of daily practice including the importance of proper diagnosis and case assessment, and treatment plan design. He will also discuss laser therapy dosing parameters and the importance of proper dose calculation, frequency of treatment administration and how to deliver consistent clinical outcomes. He will also share best practices for how to integrate laser therapy into your clinic and niche strategies. The lecture will include interactive hands-on instruction.

About The Speakers
Karen Davis Warren
PT, MPT, OCS, ATC, CSCS
Karen Davis Warren, Founding Partner, One on One Physical Therapy, brings a wealth of knowledge to her patients incorporating over 20 years of physical therapy and sports medicine experience and education. Karen holds a Master of Physical Therapy degree from Emory University and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Southern California.
Prior to founding One on One in 2004, Karen was the full time Primary Healthcare Provider for the Women’s Tennis Tour and covered over 19 events worldwide including 4 Grand Slams. She worked in the US Olympic Training Center and traveled with the US Olympic Speed Skating Team, attending World Cup Competitions in China and Japan. Karen also served on the US Olympic Committee Titan Games and was an ACOG Physical Therapist/Athletic Trainer for the Beach Volleyball Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
Karen is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Orthopedic and Private Practice Sections, US Olympic Committee Sports Medicine Society, American College of Sports Medicine and the National Athletic Trainers Association. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a Pilates Method Alliance Certified Pilates Teacher, and is a Polestar trained Pilates Instructor. She is also certified to perform Trigger Point Dry Needling through Myopain Seminars.
In addition to her practice at One on One, Karen is the Co-founder and owner of Equipoise, continues her work with the Women’s Tennis Association, WTA Tour and is the Sports Medicine Director of the Emerald Coast Volleyball Week in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She is an Adjunct Faculty and guest lecturer for the Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program, a Clinical Instructor at the Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program, Emory University, and on the Advisory Board for the Physical Therapy Program at Mercer University. She is also a published author, and has made contributions to numerous professional publications.
Karen is married and enjoys spending family time with her husband Christian and their beautiful daughters Charlize and Danielle. She is active in anything sports related, is a huge New England Sports fan.
Perry Nickelston, DC, FMS, SFMA
Perry Nickelston is a Chiropractic Sports Physician with primary focus on Performance Enhancement and Corrective Exercise, Metabolic Fitness Nutrition and trained from The American College of Addictionology and Compulsive Disorders. He is an expert in myofascial, orthopedic, medical and trigger point massage therapy.
He is regular columnist for Dynamic Chiropractic Journal and writes for industry trade publications in health and fitness. After suffering a severe back injury and recovering with laser therapy, he dedicated himself to offering this amazing treatment to others. Dr. Perry created a revolutionary integrated therapy program with an extremely high success rate.
He is a 1997 graduate from Palmer Chiropractic University and a master fitness trainer with over 20 years experience in the health industry. Dr. Nickelston is currently publishing several books on health, fitness and laser therapy.
