Companion Therapy Laser® Leads the Veterinary Market with Therapy Laser Innovation

NEWARK, DE— Building upon its industry leading technology, Companion Therapy Laser® by LiteCure recently introduced the CTS, the market’s first comprehensive therapy laser system that incorporates revolutionary 3D animation and SmartCoat® technology to improve clinical outcomes and consistency of care. The product was showcased at two of the country’s largest veterinary conferences, the North American Veterinary Conference in Orlando, and the Western Veterinary Conference in Las Vegas. At these events the CTS was received as groundbreaking technology for the treatment of common pet ailments like otitis, hip dysplasia, and arthritis in companion animals such as horses, puppies, felines, and aging dogs.

The NAVC and WVC generated unprecedented interest and sales of LiteCure’s products and as a result of both events LiteCure is following up on over 1,200 queries from veterinary practices of the new CTS.  The Companion Therapy Laser® was recognized as one of the World’s Best Veterinary Products of 2009 by Dr. Marty Becker on ABC’s, Good Morning America. This recognition initiated a relationship between Dr. Becker and Companion Therapy Laser®. The company hosted Dr. Becker for a book signing at the Western Veterinary Conference where he met with more than 150 Veterinarians and signed his ULTIMATE book series. In addition, Companion Therapy Laser® hosted a CTS drawing and awarded a therapy laser device to Dr. Earmie Edwards and her practice, Lancaster Pet Clinic, in Lancaster, CA. Previously at the NAVC, Dr. Tammy Perkins won a CTS which will be used in her Nashville, TN practices, Harpeth Valley Animal Hospital and Hillsboro Animal Hospital.

Dean Francis, the national sales and brand manager for Companion Therapy Laser® comments, “Though Class IV laser technology is still relatively new, the nationwide reputation of our lasers in this industry was evident at these recent events. Veterinarians understand the science behind our laser and have seen that the CTSbenefits their patients and their practice. We bring vets and clinicians the most advanced and proven therapy laser and they in turn have a modality that heals and relieves “man’s best friend” [and other companion animals].”

Companion Therapy Lasers are used by more veterinarians than any other therapeutic laser and they are the most effective Class IV therapy lasers in the veterinary market today. The Companion Therapy CTS with SmartCoat® technology allows veterinarians to provide accurate condition-specific treatment based on the animal’s type, weight, skin, and coat color. The CTS features an industry-first animated and interactive touch screen which makes treatments simple with four easy steps. The area of the animal being treated appears on the screen and pre-set protocols designed by laser therapy experts insure the proper areas are being treated with the appropriate settings for each individual animal and condition. The SmartCoat® state-of-the-art touch screens with 3D animation allow the clinician to educate the client about their companion’s condition and show the benefits of deep tissue laser therapy.

Dr. Brian Pryor, the company’s founder and CEO is a leading scientist in the use of light and laser technology. His research and science determined the therapy laser’s dual wavelength output of 980 and 808 nm which is the right wavelength for absorption, the correct depth of penetration, and optimal outcomes. In addition, dosages and wavelengths are pre-set for optimal penetration to assure positive outcomes. Its advanced therapeutic modality is designed for ease of use, consistent treatments, and patient education.

With the introduction of the CTS with SmartCoat® technology, LiteCure continues its commitment to manufacturing its products in the USA and providing the most innovative veterinary medical devices available. Companion Therapy Laser® experts provide in-office demonstrations of the product, clinical support, and the industry’s only therapy laser specific published materials. Veterinarians using Companion Therapy Laser® devices also receive in-office and online training, comprehensive marketing support, and customer-based materials explaining the science of laser therapy.

LiteCure LCT-1000 Deep Tissue Therapy Laser Treats Professional Athletes

NEWARK, DE—LiteCure is the developer and manufacturer of the LCT-1000 Deep Tissue Therapy Laser which received FDA 510K clearance for pain management in March 2007. Since the product’s introduction to the market it has been a resource for medical professionals who treat pain and inflammation. Laser therapy gives medical professionals a surgery-free, drug-free, non-invasive method for reducing pain and inflammation and increasing microcirculation. The immediate relief laser therapy provides and the high energy output of the LCT-1000 has made deep tissue laser therapy an integral component of the treatment plan for many professional athletes.

The LCT-1000 is a valuable tool for physical therapists, pain doctors, orthopedists, and athletic trainers and is often used in sports rehabilitation centers and wellness facilities. Across the U.S. and Canada there are 15 professional sports teams who rely on the therapeutic and pain relieving treatment of the LCT-1000 prior to and post training sessions and games. In addition to the routine use of the therapy laser with professional sports teams, the LCT-1000 was also used in the 2009 Beijing Olympics by the U.S. Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams as well as the U.S. and Canadian Equestrian teams for the riders and the sister product, the Pegasus Therapy Laser® was used to treat the horses.

Ed Ryan, Head Trainer for USA Basketball and former USA Olympic Medical Director says of the LTC-1000, “This is clearly one of the most effective modalities I have used in my career.”

Athletic trainers for major league baseball teams like the Chicago White Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, and the Toronto Blue Jays depend on the immediate and long lasting effects of laser therapy treatment to ensure that the muscle fibers and circulation to the shoulders and arms of pitchers are stimulated and not inflamed during practice and games. The laser also serves as a healing modality should players incur injuries, strains, or sprains.

Dr. Sean Zarzana is a rehabilitation and sports medicine chiropractic specialist in Atlanta who frequently treats professional athletes from the Wizards, Hawks, Timberwolves, and LA Lakers. He believes in the “whole person approach” and has used laser therapy to augment other treatments for pain throughout his career. In describing the evolution of laser technology, Dr. Zarzana states, “There is a night and day difference between Class III laser therapy and that of the LiteCure Class IV. When I learned there was a laser that could truly speed up the treatment process better and faster, I had to have it. The LiteCure delivers a noticeable therapy and people know that healing is taking place.” It is the efficacy of this technology that appeals to Dr. Zarzana and his clients. The LiteCure therapy laser is part of a comprehensive treatment plan that helps cure pain and get clients back to the game—or their normal daily activities—as soon as possible.

Laser and light technology has been available for over 30 years and the Class IV deep tissue therapy that the LCT-1000 provides is a scientifically based therapeutic modality that allows for shorter treatment times and increased clinical outcomes. In addition, LiteCure developed the patented Massage Ball hand piece that allows for a soothing massage to be delivered while the laser therapy is taking place. LiteCure is committed to educating and training medical professionals and athletic trainers to use the LCT-1000 as part of comprehensive treatment plan or as a standalone solution for treating pain and inflammation. LiteCure experts provide in-office demonstrations of the product, clinical support, and the industry’s only therapy laser specific published materials.
