Dr. Jason Smith, Ph.D. Joins LiteCure as Product Manager

NEWARK, DE—LiteCure is the developer and manufacturer of the LCT-1000 Deep Tissue Therapy Laser as well as a line of companion animal and equine therapy lasers. The company is based in Newark, DE, and has recently hired Jason Smith, Ph.D., as the new Product Manager to lead the company’s strategy and business development, product development, brand and market development, and organization development. Smith’s previous professional experience as Product Manager at Gore and Associates as well as the education he pursued at Duke University to earn his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering make him well qualified for the extensive Product Manager role at LiteCure.

LiteCure manufactures its lasers in the U.S. and is the leading Class IV laser modality for pain management. As a science-based company, LiteCure maintains its position in the market through thorough research as well as through its refined product development and product line extensions. Smith will help to identify trends in clinical practice, technology, regulatory pathways, and customer behavior that can contribute to LiteCure’s ongoing growth. He will also be influential in representing the customer during LiteCure product developments and lead the product team in establishing new products and their place in the market.

Smith’s role in the brand and market development of LiteCure products will allow the company to strengthen its resources for the sales force as well as consumer brand awareness of LiteCure therapy lasers. Laser and light technology has been available for over 30 years and the Class IV deep tissue therapy that the LCT-1000 provides is a therapeutic modality that allows for shorter treatment times and increased clinical outcomes. This science-based aspect of the technology is one that Smith plans to focus on in his brand development plan through consumer and industry education opportunities.

In response to joining LiteCure, Smith comments, “I welcome the opportunity to bring this exciting new mode of treatment into the mainstream and improve patients’ quality of life.” Dr. Brian Pryor, CEO of LiteCure states, “Jason’s education in materials science and biomedical engineering allows him to have a high level of understanding of the science behind LiteCure technology and his product manager experience will help us expand the delivery of our lasers to the market.”

LiteCure is committed to educating and training medical professionals to use the LCT-1000 as part of comprehensive treatment plan or as a standalone solution for treating pain and inflammation. LiteCure experts provide in-office demonstrations of the product, clinical support, and the industry’s only therapy laser specific published materials.

Celebrity Personal Trainer Joe Dowdell Treated With LiteCure Therapy Laser

May 4, 2010 – Newark, DE, – Certified personal trainer and strength coach Joe Dowdell is one of the most highly sought-after fitness experts in the world. He is the founder and co-owner of Peak Performance in New York City, which was voted one of the “Top 10 Gyms in America” by Men’s Health Magazine and is renowned for catering to a clientele of celebrities, elite athletes, models, and musicians. Joe has authored numerous articles on health and fitness and his new book Ultimate You will be released on May 11 through Rodale Press. As an NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist, Dowdell’s career requires him to be extremely active and fit, and his cumulative onset of chronic pain in his rotator cuff and trigger point pain in his right shoulder was becoming a hindrance to his own training. After receiving therapy laser treatments from Dr. Perry Nickelston, owner of Pain Laser Center in Ramsey, NJ, Dowdell was back to training, pain-free.

Dr. Perry Nickelston is a Chiropractic Sports Physician whose primary focus is on performance enhancement and corrective exercise and metabolic fitness nutrition. He trained at the American College of Addictionology and Compulsive Disorders and is an expert in myofascial, orthopedic, medical, and trigger point soft tissue therapy. Dr. Nickelston’s practice uses class IV deep tissue laser therapy to alleviate pain; to treat Dowdell’s shoulder pain he used the LiteCure LCT-1000 laser.

Dr. Nickelston has a unique treatment program that begins with an evaluation of pain and includes four to ten visits with LiteCure laser treatments as an integral component to healing. He says, “My treatment programs are unique to each client but because I combine laser treatment with other physical therapy and exercises. Clients notice a difference and improvement in their body within four visits.”

Joe Dowdell’s situation was no different. “I know Dr. Perry [as his clients refer to him] from the fitness industry and his ability to assess and understand the cause of my pain and then successfully treat it was awesome. After the first [of three] laser treatment, I felt significantly better and experienced no shoulder pain even while training.”

Dr. Nickelston uses the LCT-1000 so that he can help clients—which include a number of athletes—recover faster, feel better, and perform better. He says, “I am passionate about fitness, and the benefits of laser treatments with my integrated therapy program allow me to help clients get where they want to go.”
