Companion Animal Health Launches New Cold Compression System

Newark, DE – October 7, 2016 – Companion Animal Health is excited to announce the addition of cold and compressive therapy to their extensive line of innovative therapeutic technologies.

The Companion Cold Compression system combines icing and intermittent compression in one, easy-to-use device. A small, portable pump attaches to a joint wrap with a frozen gel pack to effectively reduce edema and inflammation in the joint. The pumping feature allows oxygenated blood to be moved into the area being treated to enhance healing and reduce swelling.

Cold Compression is primarily used for post-surgical rehabilitation and to accelerate muscle recovery post-exercise.

Dr. Debra Canapp from Veterinary Orthopedic and Sports Medicine commented, “A major advantage of the Companion Cold Compression system for our busy practice is its ease of use. This system takes up minimal physical space in the clinic and is extremely portable. Because it can be moved around the clinic with ease and does not need a constant power source, I’ve found that my staff uses the Companion Cold Compression system more frequently and with more patients throughout the clinic.”

The addition of this product in Companion’s portfolio allows veterinarians to have a more consistent and versatile alternative to traditional icing techniques to help aid in recovery.  Click here to learn more about the new Companion Cold Compression system.
