Dr. Little has research interests in biomedical imaging, neuromuscular disease and slow virus diseases such as Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. He has served on several regional and national committees in medical education, and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Continuing Education in the Health Professions. Other interests include the history of medicine and health care economics.
Dr. Little was Vice President of Academic Affairs and Research for Christiana Care Health Services from October, 2000 to May 2011 . Prior to that, he was at rhe MCP-Hahnemann University School of Medicine, where he was Senior Associate Dean for Graduate and Continuing Medical Education and Affiliate Affairs. In these positions, Dr. Little was responsible for the allied health, undergraduate medical and graduate medical education programs, the clinical research enterprise which involves clinical trials, health services research, the Institutional Research Board and the support infrastructure. Since retirement, Dr. Little has consulted with Universities, Hospitals, Medical Schools and Industry on medical education and research administration.
Dr. Little received his MD and PhD (Biochemistry and Enzymology) degrees from the University of Vermont. His undergraduate degree is a BA in Physics from Cornell University. His residency and fellowship training in anatomic and clinical pathology and neuropathology were all at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont.
