Jennifer F. Johnson, VMD, CVPP

Dr. Johnson is currently Medical Director of Stoney Creek Veterinary Hospital.  A life-long resident of Ridley Township, Dr. Johnson graduated from Ridley High School and West Chester University and is a proud community member.  Dr. Johnson loves that many of her clients are people she has known her whole life.  “Ridley Township is as close to ‘small town’ as the Philadelphia suburbs can get,” she laughs.  Dr. Johnson attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1993.  After graduation, Dr. Johnson practiced in Glenolden, Delaware County,  for 11 years before joining the Stoney Creek family.
Dr Johnson’s special interest is in pain management.  She is a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner (CVPP) and serves on the board of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management.  She has had training in abdominal ultrasound and performs all routine surgeries, as well as specialized soft tissue procedures.   Dr. Johnson also performs orthopaedic surgery procedures on our patients, including CCL (“ACL”) repair.  She does treat exotic pets including pet birds.

Dr Johnson enjoys teaching other veterinarians and staff about pain management and anesthesia.  She spends much of her time travelling to veterinary clinics in the tri-state area to teach sedation and anesthesia and she also travels nationally to lecture on acute and chronic pain management in small animals, orthopedic surgery in general practice, and the use of deep tissue laser therapy for the treatment of pain

When she has spare time, Dr Johnson enjoys relaxing on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay, where she unwinds with her husband, Gary and two beautiful daughters.
